Learn step by step, on your own.
Tixu knows your child's curriculum, plans what to learn next and teaches one idea at a time, then makes sure it sticks. It never hands out the answer.
Parent sign inHow it works
Each skill follows a learning cycle built on methods with strong research behind them: retrieval practice, spacing, worked examples, self-explanation and teaching it back (the Feynman technique).
- Guess, then learnA question before the lesson, then short parts, each with a quick check.
- Watch, then doWorked examples with "why?" prompts, then examples to finish on your own.
- Practise tomorrowPractice the next day, adaptive and mixed, with the full solution after every try.
- Teach it, prove itExplain the idea in your own words, then pass a short check. Spaced reviews keep it fresh.
Knows the curriculum
Built from the official standards. Follows the class, or lets your child run ahead.
A patient tutor
Stuck? Hints get more specific one step at a time. The tutor asks questions instead of giving answers.
Checked content
Every lesson and question is reviewed by independent AI reviewers, and the math is checked by a computer algebra system.
For parents
You stay in charge without having to sit next to them.
- Choose subjects, set the unit taught in class, daily time limits and allowed hours.
- Set a weekly goal, with your own reward if you like.
- A weekly report in your language: what was learned, what was hard, how to encourage.
- See their explanations in their own words.
- Built for kids' privacy: only a first name and grade are used for learning, no ads, no third-party trackers.
- No streaks, leaderboards or guilt: progress is earned and never lost.
- If your child shares something worrying, they get a caring reply and you get an alert.
- Export or delete all of your child's data at any time.
Questions
Is it a homework-answer app?
No. Tixu teaches the curriculum itself. Homework help is coming, and it will never give the final answer: it will guide your child to work it out.
Which grades and subjects?
The pilot starts with grade 9 in British Columbia: math, science, English language arts, social studies, French immersion and Core French. More grades and regions are being added.
Can my child use it on a tablet?
Yes. Tixu is made for phones and tablets and can be installed like an app. A parent trusts the device once, and children sign in with a PIN.
How do we join?
Tixu is in a private pilot. If you already have an account, sign in. Wider access is coming.
Fifteen to forty minutes a day, at their own pace.
